The LG Signature OLED R is at the intersection of exceptional engineering and elegant, user-friendly visual aesthetics

LG Electronics has this week announced it will finally be launching its hotly-awaited rollable TV to the market after unveiling it at last year’s CES event, in January of 2019. The world’s first rollable TV, known as the LG Signature OLED R (model RX), will be available for purchase for an eye-popping US$87,000.

The first of its kind device is considered to be a masterpiece that combines exceptional engineering and user-centric design, making it a statement piece that will enhance any space and complement any lifestyle thanks to its elegant aesthetic, smooth movement, and unparalleled attention to detail.

That said, the creation will first and foremost allow owners to curate their living space without taking a large, unsightly television set into account; the rolling TV will be able to disappear out of sight and into storage at the push of a button.

“The seamless marriage of technological and design innovation demonstrated in LG Signature OLED R is an unprecedented feat that genuinely deserves to be called a work of art,” Park Hyoung-sei, president of LG Home Entertainment Company, said in a statement. “This is a true luxury product that reimagines what television can be, this unique TV delivers a differentiated user experience and a new way of thinking about space while once again confirming LG’s leadership in the premium TV market.”

The high end television will offer an “artisan-level” of care, featuring brushed aluminum casing available in four colourways—including Signature Black, Moon Gray, Topaz Blue or Toffee Brown. Each television will also feature personalised engraving of a name or message at the base, adding to the aspirational aspect of the product.

Novelty aside, the television set is very capable in terms of technology; with a 65-inch, 4K OLED display, HDR support, and  self-lighting pixel technology with an individual dimming control that promises to deliver supreme picture quality.

While the television set is currently only available in South Korea, it’s expected to hit further markets in the near future. For more information on the cutting edge television or to order your own, visit the official LG Electronics website.
