The Chief Executive Officer has sought an early retirement

 

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) has announced that Michael Lynch, its Chief Executive Officer had tendered his resignation and would leave the post with effect from August, 2015.

Chairman of the Authority’s Board, Carrie Lam noted Lynch’s tremendous achievements throughout his tenure having directly overseen the process leading to the approval of the Development Plan. Additionally, he oversaw the beginning of construction of various venues such as the Xiqu Centre, M+ and the Park. Essentially, Lynch effectively drove the expansion and growth of crucial programmes to advance the Hong Kong arts and cultural scene.

Vice-Chairman of the Board and Hong Kong Tatler 500 Lister Ronald Arculli added, “The WKCD is one of the most complex and ambitious arts and culture projects in the world. It called for a CEO with the rare combination of artistic creativity and management skills of the highest calibre together with lots of EQ and CQ (Cultural Intelligence)” he said “Michael provided exactly that although he leaves us with a highly motivated and professional team, over the years Michael and I have become pretty good friends. I will miss him at WKCD and as a friend.”
