Utah Lee shares tips on how to stretch and train your muscles—without having to leave your desk

A sedentary lifestyle can take a toll on your body—if your day involves driving to places, sitting in front of a screen for hours, watching Netflix or reading a book, you’re probably spending long periods of time sitting. Staying seated all day is one of the worst things you can do to your body, as it can cause health problems that are far beyond muscle tension and stiffness, including diabetes, heart disease and obesity.

We know what you’re thinking—it’s easier said than done to take a break in between work. However, studies have shown that even a 5-minute stretch can lift your mood, help you stay focused and increase productivity, especially when you start to feel tired at work.
