Morpheus To Open On June 15

Lawrence Ho, chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, shares new updates for City of Dreams Macau

Morpheus, the new hotel at City of Dreams in Macau, has officially announced it will open to the public on Friday, June 15.

The date was unveiled at an exclusive preview of Morpheus yesterday (May 15) held by Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited.

Easily recognised by its surreal, cage-like structure, Morpheus was designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid who worked closely with Lawrence Ho, chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment to create the world’s first free-form exoskeleton high-rise.

The US$1-billion integrated resort will offer 772 guest rooms, suites and villas, restaurants by Alain Ducasse (including his first Asian restaurant, Voyages), and a rooftop sky pool 130 meters above ground.

According to Lawrence, Morpheus will be the “ultra sleek, cool modern hotel” while Nüwa (the former Crown Towers hotel) and Libertine (the former Countdown Hotel) are described as the “ultra chique classic Chinese” and “ultra funky sexy rebel,” respectively.

He also plans to bring a “whole new aspect to gaming” at City of Dreams Macau. This includes a new retail concept with “the coolest brands in the world”, Asia’s largest VR zone and an exciting new show at Studio City produced in collaboration with London-based entertainment company Stufish.
