With September just around the corner, we're letting you know the latest TV shows and movies coming to Netflix Hong Kong. Though social distancing rules in Hong Kong are relaxing slightly, if you're still staying home, there is plenty to keep you entertained. 

From the latest instalment of Chef's Table, to new Korean films and TV shows, and all the inspiration you need for reorganising your home––here's what to add to your Netflix watch list this September.

1. Chef’s Table: BBQ

Prepare to get hungry. After the success of the original Chef’s Table series––with six seasons under its belt––Netflix revamps the hit food show with a barbecue focus.

Chef’s Table: BBQ gives viewers an insiders look into the juicy, smoky world of barbecue as the series visits acclaimed chefs and pitmasters in the US, Australia and Mexico.

2. Away

Starring Academy Award winner Hilary Swank, Away follows the character of Emma Green (Swank) as she leaves her husband and teen daughter behind to command an international space crew embarking upon a treacherous, three year-long mission to Mars.

Said to be an epic, emotional story of love and sacrifice, the space drama is the latest work from executive producer Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights).

Release date: September 4

3. #Alive

Add this one to your Korean movie watch list. Though set during a zombie apocalypse, #Alive may hit a little too close to home as it follows Joon-woo (Yoo Ah-in) as he stays locked inside his apartment as a grisly virus ravages the city of Seoul.

Digitally cut off from seeking help and desperate to find a way out, the film shows Yoo Ah-in's solo struggle for survival as he is forced to stay alone at his flat and take on zombies as they attempt to break in.

Release date: September 7

4. Record of Youth

A second new Korean Netflix release for September, Record of Youth stars Park Bo-Gum, Park So-Dam (of Parasite fame) and Byeon Woo-Seok. Set in the Hannam-dong neighbourhood of Seoul, the series follows aspiring actors Sa Hye-Joon (Park Bo-Gum) and Won Hae-Hyo (Byeon Woo-Seok) who meet and befriend An Jung-Ha (Park So-Dam), a cheery but lonely budding makeup artist, as the trio try to make it in the world of show business. 

Be sure to watch if you've loved recent hits like Crash Landing On You and It's Okay To Not Be Okay.

5. Get Organized with The Home Edit

If all of the recent extra time at home has you wanting to give your space a revamp, Get Organized with The Home Edit is the show for you.

Executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, the series focuses on the work of expert home organisers Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin of The Home Edit as they help their celebrity clients edit, organise and contain their clutter to create stunning spaces. To get a feel for the show, you only need to take a peek at the duo's Instagram page to understand their signature rainbow-hued approach to home organisation––be it closest, make-up draws, kitchens or even garden sheds.

Celebrity clients on the show include the likes of Khloe Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow, Eva Longoria and Neil Patrick Harris.

6. The Devil All The Time

This highly-anticipated Netflix Original movie stars Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgård, Sebastian Stan, Riley Keough and Robert Pattinson and is based on the novel of the same name.

Produced by Jake Gyllenhaal, the psychological thriller is set in Knockemstiff, Ohio and its neighbouring backwoods, and follows Arvin Russell (Tom Holland) as he fights a cast of sinister characters that threaten him and his family.

Release date: September 16

7. Ratched

From the creator of American Horror Story, this new psychological horror drama is based on the 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, with Sarah Paulson starring as Nurse Ratched.

Through the series, Ratched tells the the origin story of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched as she seeks employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind.

Release date: September 18

8. Enola Holmes

Starring Stranger Things' Millie Bobby-Brown, Enola Holmes tells the story of Sherlock’s teen sister––Enola Holmes––as she sets out to find her missing mother.

Based on the book series of the same name the movie follows Enola as she outwits her already famous brother and unravels a dangerous conspiracy around a mysterious young Lord.

Along with Millie Bobby Brown, the film stars Sam Claflin, Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham-Carter and is directed by Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag).

9. The School Nurse Files

Rounding up the must-watch Netflix releases for September is The School Nurse Files––another new addition fresh from South Korea.

The show stars Jung Ahn Eun-young (Yu-mi) as a school nurse who has powers that allow her to chase ghosts as she is appointed to a new high school where mysterious incidents take place.

Release date: September 25
