Former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama's production company Higher Ground announce eight upcoming films, television series, and children's shows for the streaming platform

In 2018, former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama announced the formation of Higher Ground, their media and entertainment company, and partnerships with Netflix and Spotify to release movies, television shows, and audio programming such as podcasts. The Michelle Obama Podcast debuted in July 2020 and this week, Higher Ground and Netflix announced their newest upcoming projects.

"We created Higher Ground to tell great stories," said President Obama and Michelle Obama in a statement. "This group of projects builds upon that goal and the incredible path forged by films like Crip Camp, Becoming, and the Oscar-winning American Factory. From science fiction to the beauty of our natural world to the relationships that define us, Higher Ground continues to strive for fresh perspectives, compelling characters, and a healthy dose of inspiration. We couldn’t be more proud to team up with the brilliant artists behind each of these stories. Each of them has something important to say."
