Online Festival We Are One Offers 10 Days Of Films, Talks, Musical Performances And VR Experiences
Taking place from May 29 to June 7, We Are One sets out to showcase some of the films that would have been screened at this year’s films festivals. Partnering with the likes of Berlin International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival and Venice Film Festival, the 10-day event is attempting to fill the gap left by the cancellation of many of this year’s events, and allow viewers worldwide to screen an array of movies from home.
Created in partnership between Tribeca Enterprises and YouTube, YouTube Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl credited Tribeca for doing the “heavy lifting” by bringing all the festivals on-board and curating the line-up, with YouTube doing its part by giving the festival its online home. Over the 10-days, more than 100 films will be screened, with many of the movies available to screen on-demand after the initial premieres.
Along with the films, We Are One will feature a range of other programming – which is all available online for free – including Tribeca Talks from directors such as Guillermo del Toro and Francis Ford Coppola, along with YouTube channels such as Lessons from the Screenplay, CineFix, Now You See It and La Blogotheque all creating unique content for the event.
