Perrotin is expanding its activities to the secondary market, reselling art next year with a new gallery opening early 2021
Perrotin is opening a new gallery devoted entirely to reselling art next year. The new venture is a partnership between Emmanuel Perrotin, Tom-David Bastok and Dylan Lessel and serves an alternative to auction houses for collectors.
The gallery is set to take over a five-story townhouse located in 8th arrondissement, the heart of Paris. The project comes after several months of development with the opening slated for early 2021.
The new gallery's location is only a short distance from the Grand Palais and other Parisian auction houses Christie's and Sotheby's, sparking another light in the neighbourhood's resurgence as well as the Paris' secondary art market.

"I am delighted with this partnership. This new department is a natural extension of the activities the gallery has been pursuing for several years now, in particular our work with estates. With vast spaces at its disposal, it will network with our six galleries and their teams to offer the best service to our collectors at all times. Our artists will also be able to take part in this new adventure on the occasion of exceptional projects," said Emmanuel Perrotin.
Emmanuel's partners in this new vision are experienced; Tom-David Bastok created the first platform to offer co-ownership purchase opportunities of artworks in 2010 while Dylan Lessel has accompanied the development of private collections and worked on a large number of artistic and museum projects over the last decade. The two have also teamed in 2019 to manage estates and further grew their secondary market and art advising activities.
"The forthcoming opening of the gallery will allow us to reinforce our position on the art market and further our activities as specialists for the purchase and resale of artworks. By partnering with Emmanuel Perrotin, we are delighted to offer our collectors a space devoted to the secondary market in Paris at a time when Paris is regaining a significant and decisive position on the international art scene," they said.
