With historical exterior and interior design elements, the latest Porsche 911 Targa is at the intersection of cutting edge technology and timeless tradition.

The new Heritage Design model was released this week and is available to order now—although it won’t arrive in dealerships or begin deliveries until the end of this year with only 992 examples of the limited edition sports car available to the consumer market. Porsche Design has also created a limited edition chronograph watch that will also be built in restricted numbers that will be exclusively sold to owners of the new Heritage Design vehicle. The design of the timepiece will include Phosphorus Green rings, inspired by the car’s speedometer.

“With the Heritage Design models, we are evoking memories of the '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s in customers and fans alike. No brand can translate these elements into the modern day as well as Porsche and, in this way, we are fulfilling the wishes of our customers,” Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG said in a press release. “We are also establishing a new product line that represents the lifestyle dimension in our product strategy with these exclusive special editions.”

In terms of aesthetics, the vehicle sports exclusive paintwork in Cherry Metallic, gold logos, spear-shaped motorsports elements graphics on the front wings, and a 1963-era Porsche Crest on the bonnet, steering wheel, wheel centres and vehicle key. The interior will include 1950s-era two-tone leather, corduroy on the seats and door trims and a classic green-illuminated rev counter and stopwatch.

Available as of November, the Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition will start at US$181,950 while the limited edition watch inspired by the vehicle will run for US$14,000.
