Prestigious Development Oakridge Vancouver Launches Hong Kong Pop-Up Exhibition
Leading North American residential developer Westbank has launched its latest project—upscale neighbourhood Oakridge Vancouver. Considering its location in Vancouver’s affluent west side, Oakridge will be Canada’s largest cultural hub, offering a convenient central location with close proximity to a nearly 10-acre park, some of the best schools and universities in the country, and a host of shopping and entertainment options.
Hongkongers are presented with the unique opportunity to learn more about the development at Oakridge’s pop-up exhibition running from September 21 at G/F, Pacific House, 20 Queen’s Road Central, Central. Opening hours are from 11am to 7pm.
A Multi-Sensory Experience
Visitors to the exhibition are welcomed by stirring live music played on a Fazioli F183 piano provided by by Fazioli and Parsons Music as they take in images of the sweeping British Columbian natural landscape. The following section of the exhibition introduces Westbank and some of its most important work, including three of Canada’s best hotels, Shangri-la Vancouver, Shangri-la Toronto and the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Then, visitors can immerse themselves further within Canada’s natural beauty, and learn more about Oakridge, in a theatre, followed by a display of large-scale models and other items.
The exhibition’s ground floor, meanwhile, is dedicated to Oakridge’s residences, the interiors of which were curated and designed by Clémande Burgevin Blachman, ranging from all hand selected furnishings to QUIP designer toothbrushes. From the furniture to the coffee table books and bathroom amenities, the selections within the residences all evoke the concept of gesamtkunstwerk, or “a total work of art”. The exhibition visit cumulates in a relaxing tea service in the lounge.
Visions of the Future
More than a mere residential complex, Oakridge Vancouver is a holistic project that combines culture, lifestyle and educational offerings into a single community. Residents will be able to take advantage of culinary experiences whipped up by some of the best chefs across the globe, educational facilities including a branch of premier ballet school Goh Ballet and the second largest library in Vancouver, live music venues and athletic and fitness facilities, and workspace accommodating up to 3,000 creative professionals. According to Westbank founder Ian Gillespie, the project has the potential for world-wide impact for generations to come.
