After closing its doors for over two years following the devastating destruction due to Hurricane Irma, Necker Island is open for booking once again

Sir Richard Branson’s private island in paradise may be his home and preferred vacation spot… but he’s willing to share his slice of heaven with those who are looking for a secluded getaway in the sun.

Necker Island, which is located in British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, took a devastating blow as a result of Hurricane Irma back in 2017 but following a two year rebuild, the private island has recently reopened to guests—and is even more luxurious than it was in the past.

“Necker Island is my home and favourite hideaway. I invite you to explore this idyllic island paradise for yourself and to be inspired by its beauty,” Richard Branson said in a previous statement. “I hope someday to be able to share it with you.”

The opulent private island can accommodate up to twenty-two guests at a time—and while full buyouts are available throughout most of the year, there’s also the option to book individual rooms for couples, solo travellers, or families during what the island calls “Celebration Week.”

Vacationing on the 74-acre estate also includes private tennis lessons with a resident professional coach, optional watersports, a private stretch of crystal clear water, and of course unparalleled views of the Caribbean Sea from the floating sushi bar to the private infinity pools.

Nature lovers will also delight in the abundance of flora and fauna on Necker Island, including lemurs, flamingos, tortoises, and iguanas, to name a few. The island aims to exist in harmony with said wildlife—having installed wind turbines and solar panels that allow the property to run on 90 percent renewable energy.
