Mission Hills will soon be more than just about golf

Ritz-Carlton Haikou

A total area of 330,000 squared metres in golf resort Mission Hills, Haikou, will soon be transformed into an entertainment complex by Allan Zeman’s Lan Kwai Fong Group. The project – named Mission Hills Lan Kwai Fong, Haikou – is set to be complete in 2013. Also under development near the golf resort is The Ritz-Carlton in Haikou, designed by AECOM, that will open in the second quarter of 2015.

Eyeing the booming golf tourism in Haikou, in China’s Hainan province, both Lan Kwai Fong Group and Marriott International, developer of The Ritz-Carlton, will be diversifying Haikou’s profile by offering luxury dining, shopping and accommodation, in addition to the world-class golfing experience in the area.

The China Grove at Mission Hills, Lan Kwai Fong, Haikou, for example, will bring an open-air mixed-retail shopping environment, while the Fashion Avenue promises to offer a high-end shopping experience. On the other hand, The Ritz-Carlton will come with 180 rooms and 20 villas to become the first golf hotel management project operated by Marriott International in the Greater China region.

Find out how it compares to the largest Conrad ever built in Asia and the world here.
