Robert Miller Donates to Asia Society
The Hong Kong-based billionaire donates HK$100 million to Asia Society to promote local talent
Local artists are set to benefit from a $100 million donation to the Hong Kong branch of the Asia Society announced on May 8 by Duty Free Shopping (DFS) founder and director Robert W. Miller—the largest gift to a local arts organisation by an individual.
The cash will be used to launch an initiative to give young artists the chance to work with international talents. Their works will be shown at the society’s Chantal Miller Gallery, recently named in honour of Miller’s wife. The international artists will also take part in educational programming. US-born Miller, a Hong Kong resident since 1960, is a longtime supporter of the society.
