Perhaps you should consider sending your children to the Vale of Glamorgan, too

In an official statement issued by the Palacio de La Zarzuela, the office of King Felipe VI, the Spanish royal family announced that HRH Princess Leonor of Asturias will matriculate at United World Colleges' UWC Atlantic College campus in Wales to commence a two-year international baccalaureate programme. The princess' tuition, approximately £67,000 over two years, will be paid privately entirely by the royal family.

"The academic program is developed in two years (2021-2022 and 2022-2023) and includes both science and literature subjects," according to the statement, translated via Google. "This program is completed with a common interdisciplinary course on theory of knowledge, a research monograph, as well as a special program on creativity (theater, music, art, etc.), action (sports) and an activity that involves a service to the community (support in local schools, work with children with intellectual disabilities, the elderly, first aid, maintenance of nearby coasts and forests, control of environmental pollution indices, care and recovery of animal species, maritime rescue, coast guard, etc.)."

The founding college of the UWC international network of schoolsa dedicated "global education movement that makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future"—Atlantic College is situated in St Donat's Castle, a 12th-century structure, formerly the home of William Randolph Hearst, set on 122 acres of woodland and farmland in the Vale of Glamorgan, located on the southern coast of Wales.

Founded by Kurt Hahn in 1962 with the mission of bringing young people together from all around the world in the midst of the Cold War, the educational principles of the school are rooted in the idea that "education should help students to develop resilience and the ability to experience failure as well as success."

While only 60-years-old, UWC Atlantic College's halls have been home to some very posh pupils, including Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, who graduated last May and entered the Belgian Military Academy in the autumn; King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, who completed his IB in 1985, going on to serve in the military and, later, read History at Leiden University; and the youngest daughter of King Hussein of Jordan and Queen Noor, Princess Raiyah bint Al Hussein, who went on to complete her undergraduate degree in Japanese at Edinburgh, a post-graduate degree in Japanese Literature at Columbia University in New York, and is currently working towards her PhD at UCLA.

The students, who come from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, aren't the only recognizable names on campus. Since its founding, the running list of UWC's presidents has be pretty spectacular, as well: Lord Mountbatten of Burma; then HRH Prince Charles The Prince of Wales. Nelson Mandela was president until his passing in 2013. Today, the presidents of the UWC are Queen Elizabeth II and Queen Noor of Jordan.
