This June, the renowned Serpentine Galleries in London, England, are presenting a collection of wallpaper created by major names in the worlds of art and architecture.

Work from the likes of Jean Nouvel, Ai Weiwei and Toyo Ito will be on show at the Serpentine Galleries in June. However, rather than paintings or sculptures, these famous figures from the worlds of art and architecture will have specially produced wallpaper designs on show at the London gallery.

The "Maharam / Serpentine Galleries Wallpaper Collection" is the fruit of a collaboration between the American textile house Maharam, and gallery curators Julia Peyton-Jones and Hans Ulrich Obrist.

Artists and designers participating in the project include John Baldessari, Marc Camille Chaimowicz, SaNaa, Rosemarie Trockel, Lawrence Weiner, Beatriz González, Alex Katz and Raqs Media Collective.

The artist-designed wallpapers are all made using the latest digital printing techniques and are printed with UV-resistant inks onto a washable backing, reinforced with latex.

They'll be available to buy by the roll from the Serpentine Galleries shop in London or by the meter from Maharam.
