In Japan, seeing the first sunrise of the new year is somewhat a special tradition. Hatsuhinode or the first sunrise of the year is believed to bring early risers who catch the sunrise, good luck. Though travel is still on pause because of Covid-19, that doesn't mean we can't go sunrise hopping right in our own backyard.
