The iconic event on the Hong Kong art circuit returns to the Central Harbourfront during art week in March 2016

Art Central, staged within an architecturally impressive structure on the Central Harbourfront, will provide art aficionados with an opportunity to feast their eyes on a plethora of work by art talents from 20 countries, with over 30 new names never been seen in Hong Kong before. The event will take place between March 23 and 26, 2016.

Art-loving members of the public and seasoned art collectors will be enthralled by the range of artworks by emerging artists showcased at the fair, with highlights including the beguiling paper sculptures of Li Hongbo, eccentric computer creations of José Luis Alexanco, and Korean monochromatic paintings including museum quality works by Park Seo Bo and Lee Ufan among others.

Visitors can also pay tribute to the young talents at the “Rise” section, which is dedicated to solo and dual artist presentations by young galleries. 15 curated shows are featured in this area, allowing public to revisit the moments of the local mass gatherings and protests through the lens of Hong Kong artist Almond Chu, and explore the relationship between science, technology and society through Ting-Tong Chang’s creations.

The fair will also shed light upon art pieces by international names including aesthetic ink art by Liu Kuo-sung, camerawork pieces by Korean photographer Boomoon, as well as vigorous large-scale paintings by African-born Aboudia.
