1. Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai now open

The opening of Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai marks the first Mandarin Oriental property in the Middle East, a beachfront resort home to 178 spacious rooms and 78 suites—most with a private balcony and terrace, offering private views of the ocean or city skyline.

The luxury hotel also features six unique restaurant and bar concepts and a signature spa that focuses on locally-inspired experiences, including "Nomadic Sensory Journey", a wellness treatment incorporating Emirati drumming and aromas of the desert.

2. Pullman Danang unveils new look

Upon completion of a three-month renovation, Pullman Danang Beach Resort introduces its revamped 175 rooms and suites and the debut of its two-bedroom Family Suite.

All rooms and suites have been refurbished with modern Vietnamese design, lending a greater sense of space and a relaxed ambience. Another addition to the luxury resort is the dramatic ocean-facing infinity pool, which illuminates with LED lights after dark.

3. Twinpalms MontAzure, Phuket to open in July 2019

Twinpalms MontAzure, the sister hotel of boutique beach resort Twinpalms Phuket Resort, is slated to open this year, offering appointed suites, penthouses and private pool suites with stunning views of the Andaman Sea.

The launch will also include a beachside restaurant and lounge concept, Shimmer, which will serve up vibrant flavours of Asia. There will also be a no single-use plastic policy throughout the property.

4. Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas Joins IHGR

5. Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo completes extensive renovation

Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo has transformed all 179 spacious guest rooms and suites with contemporary designs drawing on the rich Japanese culture and craftsmanship, combined with state-of-the art technology to create an authentic, enriching guest experience.

Paying tribute to the neighbourhood of Nihonbashi, where the luxury hotel is located, textile designer Reiko Sudo used locally produced fabrics in all room interiors as a nod to the culture of the Kimono.

6. Laucala Island makeover

7. Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, Beijing scheduled to open in March
