London’s luxury boutique Belgraves Hotel will be renamed The Hari on the 31st of August 2016. The rebranding comes from the Harilela Group chairman and CEO Aron Harilela, who has decided to rename the hotel in honour of his late father. Hari Harilela co-founded the Harilela group in 1959 with his two brothers, swiftly establishing himself as one of the most important businessmen and hoteliers in Hong Kong. The company owns seventeen hotels around the world, including Hong Kong’s InterContinental Grand Stanford.

Aron Harilela envisions the company’s first brand as a paradigm of luxury hospitality in the global hotel market. “For me this launch is the culmination of a lifelong dream to create my own hotel brand,” he says. “The Hari will wholly encapsulate my values and reflect everything I love when it comes to design and service.”

The luxury 85-room hotel in London’s beautiful Belgravia district will be the first of its name, to be followed by The Hari Hong Kong opening in Wan Chai in 2019. The London hotel will not be refurbished, retaining its original interiors designed by Tara Bernerd with artwork from Tracy Emin. The hotel restaurant, Pont St., will close in October, to be replaced by a contemporary Italian bistro.
