The brand new cinematic-themed resort launched on Cotai Strip with a star-studded red carpet opening ceremony, allowing guests to immerse themselves in Vegas-style glamour

With a launch ceremony joined by Leonardo DiCaprio, and featuring whimsical facilities such as Batman 4D simulation ride and a figure-eight ferris wheel, Macau’s newly debuted Studio City is set to make waves in our sister SAR city.

As the latest the addition to the gambling hub, the HK$3.2 billion casino and resort on Cotai Strip was unveiled last Tuesday at a star-studded red carpet launch.

Renowned Hollywood actors Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Brett Ratner attended the opening to promote the short-film The Audition, which is directed by film director Martin Scorsese to honour Studio City.

Famed US singer Mariah Carey also made an appearance at the event, to support her boyfriend James Packer, the Australian billionaire who is the partner of the ambitious entertainment complex.

Headed by Melco Crown CEO Lawrence Ho Yau-lung and James Packer, the Hollywood-themed resort aims to transport visitors to Las Vegas through the dreamlike décor and pioneering entertainment facilities.

The multi-billion dollar project features a 1,600-room resort, a contemporary casino and an eclectic range of entertainment. 

Gary Goddard and his company Gary Goddard Entertainment were selected to create the master planning and exterior design concept of Vegas-style complex. Drawing inspiration from the world of motion pictures, the cinematic world targets visitors of all ages by offering a diversified array of attractions.
