The Macallan’s sixth Masters of Photography project is an examination of moments frozen in time
the macallan Focus
For the sixth and latest edition of The Macallan’s renowned Masters of Photography series, the distillery has collaborated with the one and only Steven Klein on a short film and 10 still images. Entitled Time Captured, the project conveys “a world standing still in a single moment in time”—a moment that is explored through Klein’s moving camera.
Klein explains, “Typically with consumption of alcohol, there is always an abundance of movement. I thought, ‘what if it had all stopped for a moment and I could take a closer look?’”
The photographer’s signature air of mystique and dark glamour permeates the video, which takes viewers to a dramatic tableau displaced in space and time, draped with a cast of enigmatic, vampiresque models. The images and film are accompanied by a standout, limited-edition whisky, which comes in a special black case with a signed Klein print and bar tools by the Roca brothers.
