The luxury whisky maker partners with the Hong Kong Philharmonic and Nicholas McGegan for a night of music from the famous Shakespearean play

The Macallan may be most admired for its single malt whiskies, but the luxury whisky maker also has an impressive reputation when it comes to supporting the arts. On July 4 and 5, The Macallan will bring its philosophy of appreciation for the finer things in life to Hong Kong, presenting classical music lovers with an evening of music from Felix Mendelsson’s contribution to Shakespeare’s classic, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The Macallan Bravo! Series strives to bring together the world’s most talented musicians, and the event taking place at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall will meld the talents of British conductor Nicholas McGegan, the ladies of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Chorus, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

McGegan has been hailed by The Independent as “one of the finest baroque conductors of his generation” and has spent an impressive 28 years as a music director. On this special occasion here in Hong Kong, the maestro will share the stage with local musicians to capture the essence of Felix Mendelssohn’s famous Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The programme will begin at 8 pm on both July 4 and July 5, and tickets can be purchased at www.hkphil.org.
