The project marks another milestone in OMA’s collaboration with the Italian fashion house

Set to open this weekend is the new Milan venue of the Fondazione Prada. The 19,000 square meter compound is a combination of old and new, the result of a transformation of a former gin distillery dating back to 1910. The project changes the conventions of how art can be exhibited and shared with the public in a mixture of new and restored spaces.

With the project designed by OMA and led by Rem Koolhaas, Fondazione Prada marks a milestone in OMA’s long-term collaboration with the renowned Italian fashion house. To coincide with the opening, OMA has designed two exhibitions: ‘Serial Classic’, co-curated by Salvatore Settis and Anna Anguissola, along with ‘Portable Classic’, co-curated by Salvatore Settis and Davide Gaspaotto.

Fondazione Prada, Milan is set to open to the public on May 9, 2015
