With boutiques that are open until midnight, a wide array of dining offerings, and convenient facilities besides, apm mall in Kwun Tong provides plenty to explore

Malls are a dime a dozen in a shopping mecca such as Hong Kong, but few feature such a claim to fame as apm mall in Kwun Tong.

Its allure can be found in the meaning of "apm" — it's a combination of time designations "am" and "pm", referencing the fact that most of its 170 stores are open until midnight, with restaurants keeping their doors open until 2am and entertainment venues welcoming guests all the way until the wee hours of the morning. Select stores are even open for 24 hours a day.

Considering apm's bevy of stores to browse through, from fashion and beauty brands to audio-visual and lifestyle concepts, we wouldn't be surprised if shoppers utilised the mall's extended opening hours to their fullest. The complex also boasts facilities like sitting areas, LCD TVs broadcasting local channels, storage lockers, and even phone and tablet charging stations for added convenience.

apm Cinema

Visit Palace apm to take in the latest blockbuster hits, whether it's family-friendly animated films or action flicks you're after. The cinema even shows more cerebral offerings such as showings of National Theatre Live, the Royal National Theatre London's project to live broadcast their productions to select institutions around the world.

Palace apm comprises 875 plush, comfortable seats across six houses, with the smallest theatre accommodating 98 and the largest 286. The movie-going experience is enhanced by a state-of-the-art USL 8 channels audio system as well as vibrating seats.

apm's Best Restaurants

apm boasts a wide variety of restaurants to choose from, particularly when it comes to Chinese, Japanese, and other Asian cuisines. Of particular note is Made in HK, an upscale cha chaan teng concept masterminded by Tony Cheng of Ammo, Le Salon and The Drawing Room fame. Pay this restaurant a visit if you're looking for Hong Kong classics with a modern, international twist served up amidst charming, welcoming surroundings.

There's also a branch of historic, Michelin-starred Cantonese mainstay Lei Garden here, where you can enjoy classics such as barbequed pork, Peking duck, double-boiled soup, and plenty of dumplings, besides. Also not to be missed is Japanese joint E-pai Teppan-Yakitori, which serves up okonomiyaki and teppanyaki dishes washed down with plenty of wine.

There's also an array of tea shops, bakeries, and delis if you're simply hankering for a snack. Grab a bubble tea from homegrown tea purveyor Cha Long, pick up some French pastries from Paul Lafayet, or even stock up your pantry at Imperial Bird's Nest.
