The Upper House Unveils André Fu Suite, A New Private Residence Designed By The Architect
A decade after André Fu and his studio received international accolade following his work with The Upper House, the collaboration between the architect and the hotel continues with the unveiling of the André Fu Suite on the hotel's level 48.
The new 1,960 square feet suite pays homage to the long-lasting relationship between Fu and The Upper House. This namesake suite enhances his original design intention to create a sophisticated and modern residence. It embodies Fu's design ethos of "relaxed luxury" and provides residents with a peek into his personal journey with the hotel that jumpstarted his career.
The colours are a calming palette of mineral blue, dusky mink and pale ivory which sets the suite apart from other rooms. It also features original concept hand-sketches of the hotel, alongside a collection of artisan books from Fu's personal library from the rest of the house.
The design aims to showcase Fu's sensibilities as a designer as well as his ability to bring a calm simplicity into interior spaces. The furnishings, decorative lighting and home accessories have been handpicked from Fu's personal collection—from the sculptural ottoman to the Mid-Century inspired furniture and the porcelain tableware—each piece is an extension and expression of Fu's signature style and craftsmanship.
The André Fu Suite occupies a previous two-bedroom penthouse and reimagined to offer guests a true sense of home by combining the refined experience of a luxury hotel with the privacy and comfort of a contemporary residence. The second bedroom houses a dining table for 18 people while the guest bedroom has a dedicated spa area with twin massage beds. It flaunts an intimate yet inviting atmosphere, enabling guests to relax and socialise.
"I'm thrilled to be able to bring my own André Fu Living brand to the House as part of this new suite and once again, I’m eager to see how guests will respond to it, whether it’s through entertaining or indulging in an urban escape," says Fu.
Guests can book the suite from HK$60,000 per night which includes a daily champagne breakfast for two with in-suite set-up, a 90-minute in-room wellness treatment for two, round-trip transfers with the hotel's car and a gift from Fu's collection.
In addition to the new suite, Fu also transformed the arrival experience at level four of The Upper House to a space more akin to a living room, creating a sense of intimacy and relaxation.
