Trisara is no stranger to the sunny shores of Phuket. A hotspot for celebrities and billionaires from around the world, the beachfront all-pool-villa resort opened in 2004 and has won multiple awards since then, including the 2017 Conde Nast Gold List award and 2017 Gallivanter’s Guide awards for best resort worldwide.

Keeping up with the times, Trisara, which literally means “garden in the third heaven” in Sanskrit, has undergone a renovation over the last year with new villas and residences, holistic spa treatments, restaurant concepts and unique guest services. Here’s why the five-star, family-owned hotel is worth another visit:

Ocean View Pool Junior Suites

The new 135 square metre Ocean View Pool Junior Suites are located on the highest level of the resort with breezy panoramic sea views, a four-metre infinity plunge pool with three metre reflection pool, and complete privacy on its 70 square metre deck.

Just be sure to place the provided sandstone sculpture outside of your villa steps as a do-not-disturb sign, or risk having housekeeping walk in on you.

 Holistic spa treatments

Last November, Jara Spa relaunched with a new five pillar philosophy inspired by a century old Ficus tree that surrounds the spa. The pillars include rejuvenation, renewal, anti-ageing, mindfulness and pleasure—all of which are reflected in the assortment of treatments on the spa menu.

Try the Royal Trisara six-hand massage—a blend of Thai, Swedish and acupressure massage—and unwind in the new relaxation room after your treatment to complete the experience.

Farm-to-table dining

PRU, which stands for “Plant, Raise & Understand” is a new dining experience at Trisara that’s extremely popular with non-resident guests.

Most of the ingredients are sourced from the hotel’s very own farm “Pru Jumpa” just 20 minutes away, or foraged from local farmers and fishermen for an innovative menu of authentic, earthy dishes.

Local “Mama” recipes

Serving dishes that even local Thai people may not have tried before, ocean-facing Seafood at Trisara has built its menu around local “Mama” recipes that are traditionally only passed down through generations.

Don’t miss the Gam Poo Phad, stir-fried crab meat with homemade yellow curry paste, egg and celery, and the Phad Phak Meang Goong Siab, local Thai green leaves exclusive to Southern Thailand that are sautéed with garlic and dry shrimps.

New multi-bedroom residences

Trisara’s new multi-bedroom residences range from three to seven rooms to accommodate all sizes of groups. All come with dedicated Thai cooks and housekeepers who prepare homecooked Thai and Western meals for you from inside of the residences themselves.

We personally love Villa 32, a five-bedroom oceanfront residence with an ocean-facing master bedroom, built-in Martini bar, two private swimming pools (9 and 16 meter, respectively) and a private seaside deck for non-stop sun tanning.
