Water World Ocean Park In Hong Kong To Open This Summer 2021
Ocean Park is aiming to open its highly-anticipated Water World Ocean Park this summer after four years of construction that run into massive delays. Entering its final phase of preparation, the park is now applying for permits to operate and get facility safety approval. There are no exact opening dates announced yet given the government's ever-changing anti-epidemic arrangements and health protocols.
Water World Ocean Park is described as the park's "best-kept secret" and according to Ocean Park is "Asia's first and only year-round, all-weather seaside water park". With the tagline of "Splash into Adventure", Water World is inviting everyone to go on an adventure of discovery and immerse themselves into a mystical, hidden world at one with the wonders of water and nature.
In addition to this, the park's logo is also unveiled, which encapsulates the water park's topography and location as well as its surreal, thrilling experiences. The logo is represented by a stylised design of the sea, mountains, culminating in a bright smiling sun.
"Water World is set to bring out the adventurous spirit in all of us. With an architectural design that embraces the natural terrain, it gives adventurers the opportunity to take in the beauty that surrounds our Southern District. We’re so looking forward to welcoming everyone to Water World soon," said Paulo Pong, deputy chairman of Ocean Park.
Water World will be divided into five zones, each filled with its own unique spirit of fun and adventure, led by guides. Within the five zones, there are 27 outdoor and indoor attractions including Hong Kong's first-ever surf rider, nine dynamic water slides to several areas specially designed for small kids to have fun in. The adventure starts at Splendid Reef is an expansive open area right on the shores of the South China Sea.
Daredevils can enjoy the wild twists and turns of the thrilling slides at Torrential River while those who love challenges can opt for the Thrill Valley and its mind-blowing extreme slides and freefall experiences. Meanwhile, if you prefer to enjoy the sun, Adventure Coast is a cosy choice to take in the sea breeze and indulge in some refreshing bites.
The Hidden Village is open for all ages and will include the city's first-ever all-weather indoor wave pool. Over at Horizon Cove, you can enjoy day and night entertainment such as concerts and events on the performance stage.
