A luxury SUV complete with Mulliner bespoke detailing

It was W.O. Bentley who famously said: “I wanted to make a fast car, a good car: the best in its class.”

And here it is.

Oozing style and automotive precision, the Bentley Bentayga has reshaped and redefined the luxury SUV; reinterpreting the iconic Briton’s design language without tainting its heritage bloodline.

For the connoisseur behind the wheel, the Bentley Bentayga is the SUV of luxury dreams. Here is why the haute-luxury carmaker’s newest SUV is the world’s most bespoke to date.

Luxury incarnate

Boasting traditional British craftsmanship, the Bentayga—like all Bentley creations—is hand-fashioned by artisans in Crewe.

A range of luxury materials have been meticulously selected for the inside cabin, with 130 hours taken to handcraft each Bentayga. The Bentayga SUV is unique in its Mulliner bespoke detailing. Mulliner has built its reputation by using the finest craftsmanship techniques to fulfil bespoke requirements for Bentley’s most discerning customers since the 1920s.

Personalised bespoke solutions can be seen in its carefully selected leather hides and exquisitely veneered woods. This is where Bentayga customers can imagine and craft a bespoke coachbuilder.

Bentley offers a choice of more paints, leathers and veneers on Bentayga than any other SUV. Select from a portfolio of the most popular exterior colours with over a hundred standard and special paint options, allowing for a custom colour scheme that intrinsically reflects individuality.

Create the car of dreams with luxe add-ons. Bentley has collaborated with Breitling to bring its specialist chronographs to the SUV, offering the Mulliner Tourbillon by Breitling, which can be fitted to the car’s dashboard on request.

Food lovers who wish to enjoy al fresco dining en route can opt for the Linley Hamper. The British designer has joined Bentley to make a tri-compartment trunk, all of which are hand-trimmed in Beluga hide, and then housed under the optional Seven Seat.

One compartment contains crockery and cutlery and the other is a cooling compartment, which can keep two bottles of champagne or wine perfectly chilled for an impromptu reception with friends. A final compartment is designed specifically to stow clothes and other items for attire to match your fine dining experience.

Style prowess

The Bentayga is the world’s first genuine luxury SUV: a true step change. There has never been an SUV so meticulously crafted, with progressive Bentley design language reinterpreted for a modern audience.

Although the Bentayga is a new vehicle, the classic Bentley design cues remain. Fans of the brand will no doubt recognise the signature exterior design elements such as the four round headlights, large matrix grille and B-shaped wing vents that exude a modern, dynamic elegance.

Style innovation comes now in the fully adaptive headlamps, with integrated washers, to fit to the aluminium front fenders. And, in a Bentley first, an illuminated ‘B’ symbol has been incorporated within the segmented taillights, beaming a striking night monogram along the Hong Kong skyline that's instantly recognisable.

Powerful performance

More than luxe to look at, the Bentley Bentayga is the most powerful and fastest SUV ever. With an all-new Crewe-built W12 TSI engine, the motor develops 608 PS and 900 Nm for 0-to-100km/h whips in 4.1 seconds flat and a top speed of 301 km/h.

Ingenuity is at its core. The W12 engine has been designed with performance in mind to deliver exceptional levels of torque. Combined with All Wheel Drive, it can cope with any conditions, on and off road.

For the adventurer, Bentley’s Drive Dynamics Mode and optional Responsive Off-Road Settings offer up to eight modes, allowing drivers to select a set-up for any road condition.

The firstly introduced Bentley Dynamic Ride—the world’s first electric active roll control technology to utilise a 48 V system—instantly counteracts lateral rolling forces when cornering and ensures maximum tire contact to deliver class-leading cabin stability, ride comfort and exceptional handling.
