"These Balinese wood sculptures date back 200 years. We purchased them on a visit to Bali 15 years ago and had them shipped to Paris. The freight cost more than they did. A year later we saw similar pieces at the Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac Museum in Paris."

"I love this porcelain tea set from China which is more than three centuries old. It has been in our family for generations."

"France awarded me this medal in 2014. It's a knighthood in the Order of Arts and Letters, which recognises a person's contribution to the arts. It's very special to me."

"This console table is by my good friend Hervé Van der Straeten. I have a few pieces by him. I just love his work."

"This drawing of French actress Catherine Deneuve hangs in my bedroom. It was presented to me by the artist himself, Liu Ye, as a gift."
