The K-pop group's 23 Guinness World Records and numerous record-breaking achievements make them a shoo-in for the prestigious hall of fame
Record-breaking K-pop act BTS officially entered the Guinness World Records 2022 Hall of Fame this week after the band collected a whopping 23 Guinness World Records titles and swept up one achievement after another this year.

Since the band rose to international fame in 2018, the group has won numerous awards including Billboard music awards and Asian music awards. They have also shattered many international records with their music, many of which are their own.
In fact, this year, the group beat out Coldplay to become the most-streamed group on Spotify and became the most followed music group on Instagram with 48.6 million followers. The boys have consistently dominated Twitter and have the most engagements for a music group, breaking their own record for this four times so far.
This year, the group released their chart-topping song Butter, which very quickly broke records due to its global success. Butter currently holds five records including the most viewers for a premiere of a music video on YouTube (a record they previously held for their debut English-language song, Dynamite) and was the most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours of its release.

Some of their other records include the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours by a K-pop group, the fastest time taken to reach one million followers on TikTok, the most tickets sold for a live-streamed concert and the list goes on.
This comes shortly after the red-hot group became the first musical act to top the Hot 100, Billboard’s weekly ranking of the most popular tracks in the United States twice in the same year, with a total of five number one hits in less than a year after their latest song, Permission to Dance, debuted at number one on the list.
At the rate of their success so far, one can see why BTS deserves to be inducted into the Guinness World Records 2022 Hall of Fame.
