Lies Hidden in My Garden
is a suspense thriller about two women who lead entirely different lives. Kim plays Moon Joo-ran, a housewife who has a picturesque life in a perfect house and is the envy of everyone around her, while Lim plays Chu Sang-eun, a pregnant woman who is a victim of domestic violence and dreams of escaping from her pitiful reality.

To prepare you for the highly anticipated K-drama, here are four things you need to know.

Where can I watch 'Lies Hidden in My Garden'?

Lies Hidden in My Garden will air on IPTV service Genie TV and South Korean TV channel ENA. International fans will be able to stream the K-drama on Prime Video.

ENA was also the same platform on which other popular K-dramas originally aired such as Love is for Suckers (2022), Good Job (2022), Delivery Man (2023), and not forgetting its pride and joy, Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022). The courtroom series set the record for the highest ratings in ENA history and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Series at the 28th Critics' Choice Awards.

Safe to say that ENA is hoping to replicate the success story with Lies Hidden in My Garden.

What is 'Lies Hidden in My Garden' about?

The K-drama was adapted from the novel A House With a Yard (unofficial translation), written by author Kim Jin-young, and helmed by director Jung Ji-hyun, who was behind the 2022 coming-of-age romance drama Twenty-Five Twenty-One.

The story centres on the lives of Moon and Chu. Moon comes from a privileged background having grown up in a wealthy family. She's married to Park Jae-ho (Kim) who's a perfectionist doctor and together, they live a picture-perfect life in a great home with a large yard.

Chu (Lim) is the complete opposite. She comes from a poor family and even in marriage, suffers from financial difficulties. She lives in a shabby rented apartment with her cold and calculative husband Kim Yoon-beom (Choi Jae-rim) and is subject to domestic violence even while pregnant. She often feels unsafe in her own home and walks around listlessly, just hoping to suffer less pain than the night before. One day, she receives a phone call that Kim is dead.

Moon's happy home and perfectly crafted life are shattered after she's alerted by a strange odour in her backyard–almost like a corpse. Her husband, however, remains unperturbed and simply likens it to manure. This leads to Moon investigating her husband and later, meeting Chu.

Why is 'Lies Hidden in My Garden' such a highly anticipated K-drama?

The two leading ladies, on top of its unique storytelling. Not only does it star Lim, who earned praises for her spine-chilling performance in The Glory, but it also features Hallyu actress Kim. The latter, who's known for effortlessly portraying various characters in K-dramas such as Iris, My Princess, Jang Ok-jung, Living by Love, Yong-pal, and Hi Bye, Mama!, will be making her small screen comeback after three years of hiatus.

Lim, who made her debut with 2014's Obsessed, topped TV drama star brand value rankings in April 2023 for her villainous role in The Glory and earned a reputation as a phenomenal and versatile actress. She also went on to win Best Supporting Actress – Television Award at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards. While she played a perpetrator of school violence in The Glory, she returns as a victim of domestic violence in this K-drama.
