In February, Netflix revealed that the fourth season of Stranger Things will be released in two volumes. The first part will drop on May 27, 2022, while the other will be out on July 1, 2022.
Today, the streaming giant just released the first images for the upcoming season. If there’s anything apparent from the photos, it’s that the Hawkins kids are all grown up.
“This year, we don’t have the kids. We can’t do The Goonies anymore. And so, suddenly, we’re leaning much harder into that horror movie territory that we love. It was fun to make that change,” explained Ross Duffer, one of the show’s creators.

Four key posters were unveiled last month. It confirmed that the story will take place across four locations around the world, from Russia to California.
Ross Duffer also noted that some of the fan theories that he’s seen online are “startlingly” accurate. “I’m constantly impressed with how sharp the fans are, and how quickly they’re able to put something together with very, very little information.”
The Duffer Brothers also previously confirmed that the upcoming season will be the penultimate one, with the series ending after season five.
