The Beckhams are always on the go—be it moving from London to Madrid to Los Angeles for David Beckham’s football career, jet-setting around the world for Victoria Beckham’s fashion week runway shows, or enjoying a wholesome family holiday with their children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

But wherever they go, the couple certainly know how to choose a great hotel.

From a luxurious desert oasis in Morocco or a hot celebrity hideout in Hollywood to a sky-high stay in Tokyo or suites decorated by Beckham himself in Macau, these are some of the five-star hotels they’ve stayed in over the years.

1. Amanjena in Marrakech, Morocco

Beckham celebrated his 40th birthday at this luxury Aman resort just outside of Marrakech, Morocco.

The football star went all out, booking six of Amanjena’s two-storey maisons—each one with a private garden and pool shrouded by desert palm trees—and ten of the hotel’s villas for family and friends, including Gordon Ramsey and Eva Longoria. Guests enjoyed an unforgettable stay that included a feast by chef Ludovic Gomeiro, spa treatments and fireworks.

2. Aman Tokyo, Japan

Are the Beckhams certified Aman-junkies? During a recent family trip to Tokyo, the Beckham clan stayed at yet another Aman property: Aman Tokyo—a personal favourite of ours here at Tatler Asia.

Victoria Beckham once posted a quick make-up tutorial to her Instagram stories that featured the unmistakable Aman Tokyo “ryokan in the sky” interiors in the background.

3. Blakes Hotel in London, UK

Small, exclusive and with a strict no paparazzi policy, it’s little wonder Blakes Hotel in London is a magnet for celebrities including Lady Gaga, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lenny Kravitz and even the British royal family.

The Beckhams are regulars at Blakes Hotel, where their room of choice is one of the hotel’s signature suites: Room 007, where the sleek and seductive interiors is an homage to hotel founder, designer and former actress Anouska Hempel’s career as a Bond girl.

4. Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, USA

Any celebrity worth their salt has spent time at Chateau Marmont—including the Beckhams, who have enjoyed multiple stays at one of Los Angeles’ most notorious celebrity hideouts.

5. La Reserve in Paris, France

La Reserve, a chic palace hotel just off the Champs‑Elysées, is where Victoria Beckham stayed during Paris Fashion Week this September.

The five-star hotel has just 25 suites and 15 rooms, and takes a Belle Epoque approach to design. The hotel features beautiful antiques, Carrara marble and decadent fabrics ranging from silk wallpaper to taffeta and velvet.

6. Mandarin Oriental, Doha in Qatar

If you’ve watched the Beckham docu-series on Netflix, you’ll know how extreme the fanfare surrounding the athlete can be.

Case in point, Becks was forced to cut his time at the Mandarin Oriental, Doha short after fans caught wind of where he was staying; despite the fact he was entering and exiting the luxury hotel via a private entrance.

7. Principe di Savoia in Milan, Italy

During Beckham’s time playing for AC Milan, he called the Royal Suite at Principe di Savoia home. The Suite boasts marble floors, Venetian mirrors in the ornate sitting room and views over the spectacular Piazza della Republica.

He was also said to be a regular at the Principe Bar during aperitivo hour, or at the hotel’s Acanto restaurant, after a long day on the pitch.

Fun fact: the late Queen Elizabeth II has stayed in the Principe di Savoia's 5,400 square foot Presidential Suite, which comprises three bedrooms, wrap-around balcony and a private Pompei style spa complete with a large swimming pool, sauna and Turkish bath.

8. The Londoner Macao

Beckham is a hotel ambassador for The Londoner in Macau, which opened in May this year. There’s even a collection of David Beckham Suites, which the star curated in collaboration with the award-winning design house David Collins Studio.

The suites range from one to three bedrooms, and feature personal touches and homages to Beckham’s career: snaps of Victoria Beckham, taken by their son Brooklyn, adorn the walls, while a football-inspired chandelier hangs in one of the sprawling bathrooms.

9. The Ritz in Paris, France

We imagine it might take a lot to impress Posh Spice, but Victoria Beckham was so star struck by her room at The Ritz, Paris that she uploaded a very excited video to her Instagram stories during her stay.

“Check out my room!!” Beckham captioned a short clip showcasing her suite. “This room is incredible ... how amazing,” she said as she filmed the bed, chaise lounge and seating area. She even filmed an ornate golden tap in the shape of a swan in the bathroom, commenting that she had “never seen such a jazzy tap!”
