After joining the Bank of East Asia in 2000, Adrian Li became co-CEO of the company in 2019; he took over from his father, David, who stepped down after 38 years at the top and remains executive chairman. Adrian is a member of the prominent Li dynasty, whose business success began with his great-great-grandfather Li Shek-tang.

Li is a non-executive director of companies including Sino Land, Tsim Sha Tsui Properties, China State Construction International and Cosco Shipping Ports. On the board of the Community Chest of Hong Kong, and the advisory board of the Salvation Army Hong Kong and Macau Command, he is also chairman of the Chinese Banks’ Association and vice-president of The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers’ Council. He acts as a counsellor to the Hong Kong United Youth Association, as well as being a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

Li is married to Bonnie Kwong-Li, co-founder of Maison Huit and Babylicious HK, with whom he has two children.
