The daughter of Fang Zhaoling, Anson was Hong Kong’s first Chief Secretary to be female and to be Chinese. She received the Grand Bauhinia Medal in 1999. Anson was appointed an honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George in 2002, and Chevalier of the National Order of the Legion of Honour in 2008.
