Chairman, Wing Tai Properties
Christopher Cheng is the chairman of Wing Tai Properties, which in addition to its extensive property development interests also has a major hospitality arm as well as operations in garment manufacturing. A non-executive director of HSBC, Cheng is also a steward of the Hong Kong Jockey Club and a member of Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission.
In the past, Cheng has served as chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, non-executive director of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, president of the Federation of Garment Manufacturers, and vice president of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association. He has also served as a member of the Council of The University of Hong Kong and a court member of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Christopher Cheng has an OBE and a Gold Bauhinia Star, and is a Justice of the Peace. He and his wife Ivy have two children.
