The co-founder in 2002 of venture capital firm Horizons Ventures, which manages Li Ka-shing’s private investments, Solina Chau focuses on identifying and supporting the defining companies of the future. Among the more than 200 disruptive start-ups the company has invested in are such stellar names as Skype, DeepMind, Siri, Facebook, Spotify, Impossible Foods and Zoom.

Chau has worked extensively with Li for decades, quickly becoming his close friend and trusted confidante after returning to Hong Kong in the 1990s following a period working in Australia and the UK. She is also a business partner CK Holdings and a director of the Li Ka Shing Foundation, which has invested more than HK$30 billion in projects related to education and healthcare, mostly in Hong Kong and mainland China. She successfully launched mainland China media company Tom.com and also worked extensively with former Hong Kong chief executive Tung Chee-hwa, whose cousin Debbie Chang is her long-time business partner.
