Luxury real estate specialist Tony Hwang is a former executive director of the Parkview Group, the family company now known as Joy City Property in which his three brothers are also involved. The family firm has its origins in Taiwan, where Tony’s father, CS Hwang, built it as an infrastructure business. The company moved into luxury property and established its footing in Hong Kong in the 1980s with Parkview, a visionary project that created the template for luxury developments in Hong Kong. Today, the company has property interests throughout Hong Kong, as well as in mainland China, Singapore and Europe, where it is the former owner of London’s Battersea Power Station.

A philanthropist who supports many charities, Tony is especially dedicated to his wife Vanessa’s Foodlink Foundation, Hong Kong’s largest hunger relief charity, which was founded in 2001 and collects surplus food and distributes it to people in need.

Tony and Vanessa Hwang have four children. When not at work, Tony can usually be found on the golf course.

The Hwang family company invested HK$1.16 billion to buy the land on which Parkview is built; fair to say it’s risen in price a little bit since.
