The chairman of HKR International, Victor Cha took over the job in 2020, having been a director of the company since 1989 and managing director since 2001. Founded by his father, textile magnate Cha Chi-ming, the company operates in a range of industries, including real estate, hospitality, and healthcare; in Hong Kong, mainland China, Japan and Thailand.

Cha is a keen patron of the arts who acts as chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Festival. He is also the chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Hong Kong-Japan Business Co-operation Committee, a governor of the China-United States Exchange Foundation, and a trustee of The Better Hong Kong Foundation and Sang Ma Trust Fund.

He is the husband of Hong Kong Stock Exchange chairman, HSBC deputy chairman and Executive Council member Laura Cha, with whom he has two children.
