Enlighten - Action for Epilepsy's welfare programmes equip epileptic individuals with practical resources and tools through counselling and a help hotline, while also providing them with emotional support through activities and a support network.
Its education and advocacy programmes promote a deeper understanding of epilepsy among the public. It offers bilingual interactive training to schools, corporations, governmental organisations and the general public. Its Hope (Helping Other People with Epilepsy) campaign provides training to people with epilepsy, empowering them to speak up about their condition.
Every year the organisation encourages people to take part in its Paint the Town Purple campaign on Purple Day, March 26; participants can dress in purple, host an event, post on social media or purchase one of the organisation’s products to show support.
The organisation hopes to introduce more programmes in future, including corporate training targeted at managers, HR professionals and civil servants, as well as an epilepsy guide for the workplace.
