Tapas de Portugal

Portuguese   |   $ $ $ $   |   Taipa

Tasty tapas and authentic Portuguese flavours are found in the heart of the historical Taipa Village at this restaurant, popular with locals and tourists alike

Formerly known as Casa de Tapas, the newly revamped Tapas de Portugal is a popular choice for an authentic sample of tapas in the older, historical district of Taipa. The multi-storey tapas bar is petite, but the charm of it is just that, as guests can select the bustling busy ground floor or quieter upper floors to enjoy its menu offerings, from light bites to richer mains, most of which offer an authentic taste of Portugal. Guests can sample the traditional caldo verde, or Portuguese traditional green cabbage soup with chorico sausage, or tapas such as the restaurant’s signature scrambled eggs with Portuguese bread sausage, and smoked ham Pata Negra croquettes. Seafood dishes such as clams with olive oil, white wine, lemon juice, garlic and coriander, or wet lobster rice are also signatures that are best for sharing among a small party. Tapas de Portugal also offers an abundant selection of wines, particularly Portuguese labels and an outstanding array of by-the-glass wines. Guests can also indulge in Portuguese beers and a sample of fruit liquors that are rarely served elsewhere.
