This spacious and family-friendly restaurant can sit up to 250 diners both indoors and out. While the Italian restaurant boasts exquisite furnishings, guests will most likely be carried away by the stunning postcard charms of Victoria Harbour through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Aside from excelling in contemporary Italian dishes, Cucina’s menu is also celebrated for its grilled meat dishes along with pasta options. To begin, the creamy burrata cheese with fresh tomatoes and Parma ham was an invigorating and decadent combination that tantalises the taste buds. The thinly sliced Parma ham and the rich burrata cheese was packed with flavour, and the tomatoes added a refreshing note. For the main course, we opted for the linguine with Sicilian red prawns. The prawns were fresh and well-seasoned, and the pasta was beautifully done with an al dente texture. The Italian sea bass, a well-executed dish paired with fresh tomatoes and romanesco, is an aromatic and light option for seafood lovers. For dessert, we had the chocolate sphere, a creative and Instagram-worthy chocolate-coated vanilla ice-cream complemented by pops of cracking candies.
In addition to an extensive selection of champagne, the wine list sports a good array of Italian wines, alongside options from France, New Zealand and Australia.
Service at Cucina is overall very attentive and proper, with the staff being particularly knowledgeable when explaining the dessert menu in details by strolling through an interactive iPad menu.
Dinner for two including one cocktail each amounts to HK$1,300. Considering the modern and hearty Italian cuisine paired with the warm and inviting ambiance of the restaurant and its spectacular harbour backdrop, it’s certainly good value for money.
