Enter the gigantic bank vault-like metal doors within the ground floor of a swanky new office building in Kowloon Bay, and you’re transported to an opulent 10,000 square foot Chinese clubhouse, in a relaxed way, with ample space for conversation. The all marble foyer strikes us as cold initially, but the interior dining room awash with warm beige and grey is luxurious in its spaciousness, with ample lighting for chef Edward Voon’s Instagram-worthy creations. Dishes change seasonally, but go for the degustation menu— with six-course and eight-course options—if you’ve made the trek over. The meal begins with an impressive mountain of house- churned butter. Bread includes creative creations like rolls with dried longan. The sommelier offers a dynamic and unique wine pairings with bottles from all over the globe, starting with a sake for the first course followed by Italian and German wines, progressing to robust bottles from Bordeaux.
