Portofino

Enjoy quality Italian fare with friendly service in a comfortable setting at this establishment in The Venetian Macao

All around are luxury boutiques, but Portofino stands out with its cheerful awning and brightly coloured Vespa motorcycles parked just outside their “al fresco” terrace. The sunny shores of Italy provide inspiration for the menu, which ranges from marinated seafood crudo to classic antipasti, grilled proteins, pastas and pizzas. The duo di salmon presents fresh and marinated fish with peppery rocket, roasted beetroot, mascarpone and a zingy orange dressing—an invigorating start. Seafood is the main draw here, and many opt for the brodetto di pesce, a rich tomato-based soup filled with prawns, clams, octopus, mussels and scallops. A wide range of pasta are served in hearty portions, from homemade ravioli filled with braised wagyu to pappardelle twisted with herby Italian sausage, mushrooms and parmesan cream. There are plenty of wines by the glass—not exclusively Italian—and a collection of signature cocktails including spritzes and negronis.
