A spacious family-oriented restaurant, Shanghai Garden has beautiful unique decor and soft lighting, which makes for a comfortable environment and traditional ambiance.The restaurant offers authentic flavours of Shanghai and Huai Yang cuisine. The menu boasts varieties of famous traditional dishes that will appeal to most tastes. Be sure to try crabroe sautéed fresh water shrimps, steamed crab-roe and pork dumplings (xiaolong bao) and Zhenjiang pork which are all highly recommended dishes. For shark’s fin soup lovers, this is the place for you. The strong aromas of ham together with the shark fins were delicious and delightful. Moving on to the main, braised sea cucumber with vegetables was a little bland but texture was good. Ending the meal with traditional dessert, banana pancake and lotus flower sweet soup makes a splendid dinner experience.The wine list for bottles is limited and seems randomly put together, and has only one option when ordering by the glass.The service is good and waiters are very friendly and polite.Considering the quantity and quality of food, dinner for two, excluding drinks, is very reasonably priced at $1,400.
