Sushi Mizumi

Japanese   |   $ $ $ $   |   Macau

An impressive omakase experience with jet-fresh sashimi and sushi prepared by skilful Japanese sushi chefs

Sushi is an art form and here, you get to see the experts in action. The traditional sushi bar inside of Mizumi at Wynn Palace seats up
to 14 guests at a bar surrounding two itamae who busily prepare all sashimi and sushi orders by hand. From the simple act of grinding fresh wasabi to slicing fish with extreme precision, the process is painstakingly detailed and sure to get your saliva glands going. The menu is pure omakase with your choice of seven to 10 courses, which can be tailored to your specific tastes and preferences. Showcasing fresh seafood flown in from Japan, each dish is presented beautifully in handspun Japanese pottery and hand-cut crystal. Service is extremely attentive and slightly overbearing, but the bar seating means you can turn your back on them without seeming impolite. Focus instead on making small talk with the cordial chefs, who are more than happy to talk you through each dish.

Tatler Tip

The sushi chefs are happy to explain what each dish is with the help of a sushi book on the bar counter; be sure to ask to try their different kinds of uni for a delicious taste test.
