Editor's Note: As of February 15, 2018, Sushi Ta-Ke will cease operation at 12/F, Cubus, 1 Hoi Ping Road, Causeway Bay and will relocate to Shop G01, Lee Garden 2, 28 Yun Ping Road, Causeway Bay in March 2018. Stay tuned for the restaurant's updated information and official re-opening date. The review below refers to the Cubus location.

Sushi Ta-ke offers your classic high-end omakase experience. Expect personalised attention when seated at the sushi bar, and a choice of three omakase menus, plus an additional seasonal one. Most menus will include not only sashimi and sushi, but also grilled and simmered seasonal items; such as a delectable grilled sardine fillet, as well as a starter and dessert, usually of the best-quality Japanese vegetables and fruits. A particularly memorable example was a dish of simply shucked Hokkaido corn, each kernel packed full of sweetness and crunch. Keep in mind that Sushi Ta-ke offers a more traditional approach to sushi, and those looking for toppings such as truffle paste or overly marinated fish are better off elsewhere. Unusually for quite a traditional Japanese restaurant, the drinks list includes not only premium junmai daiginjyo sake; but also top-end red and white wines, usually by the bottle. A private room at the back of the restaurant with its own sushi bar is a fantastic option for larger parties.
