Asia's Most Wanted: Singapore's Most Eligible Ladies
Editors of the Asia Tatler titles scoured the region to find them—the sort of jet-setting, merger-making, brainy beauties that any man (or woman) would fawn over. But between managing funds and running hotels, restaurants and fashion empires, as well as being philanthropists and politicians, these high-flying singletons barely touch the ground. They are undoubtedly the most swipe-right of city slickers, stars and socialites, but the question is: can anyone pin them down?
See Asia's Most Wanted by country:
1/8 Chloe Ng
The stylish daughter of Singaporean society heavyweights Nina and Eddie Ng is studying law in London.
NATURAL HABITAT: If she’s not at a law lecture, you’re likely to find her in a London streetwear boutique picking up the latest kicks.
PERKS: Chloe’s on a mission to eat at the top 100 restaurants in the world. And, well, she’s going to need some company.
2/8 Karisa Sukamto
WHY HER? The former Miss World Singapore received her BA from King’s College London and now works as a regional brand manager at online fashion platform Zalora. She’s also working on a street style platform, The Status Quo.
WHAT'S MORE: Karisa was named Singapore’s Most Stylish by Harper’s Bazaar last year.
3/8 Krystal Tan
Inspired by her love of travelling, she founded Blue Sky Escapes, a travel company that organises bespoke journeys.
NATURAL HABITAT: Anywhere extraordinary.
4/8 Melissa Peh
Following in the footsteps of her parents, Adrian and Susan Peh, who are partners at their own law firm, Melissa studied law at University College London and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore earlier this year.
NATURAL HABITAT: This self-proclaimed foodie can usually be found at the latest dining hotspot snapping for her Instagram.
PERKS: She’s a trained ballroom dancer, so she won’t be treading on anyone’s toes.
5/8 Cheryl Cheong
This familiar face in Singaporean high society, the daughter of doctor and watch collector Bernard Cheong, graduated from Singapore Management University with a double degree in business management and accountancy. After trying her hand at various office jobs, she turned her passion for baking into a career by starting Cheryl’s Sweets.
NATURAL HABITAT: Behind the camera, taking a picture of her newest sweet treat to put on her website.
PERKS: Cookies. Cakes. Brownies. Need we say more?
6/8 Rachel Wee
Youth, style and a family that runs one of Singapore’s largest beauty empires: this pharmacy graduate has got it all. Given that beauty mogul Jean Yip is her mother, her flawless look is unsurprising.
NATURAL HABITAT: Working as the world’s best-dressed pharmacist.
PERKS: She’s a self-proclaimed neat freak, so as long as you pull your weight, an orderly home is guaranteed.
PSST: She’s also a “Belieber” and has a golden retriever called Pillow.
7/8 Rebecca Eu
Rebecca’s family might be one of Singapore’s wealthiest, but that doesn’t mean she’s sitting idle. The 23-year-old is the founder of social enterprise Love, Mei, which provides survivors of human trafficking with skills training and employment.
THAT'S NOT ALL:
She was the first Singaporean to be presented at the Bal des Débutantes in Paris. The girl’s got drive and manners.
8/8 Rebekah Lin
She’s co-founder of The Social Co, a youth-led organisation that encourages young people and businesses to assist and raise the profile of lesser-known charities in Singapore. She is also the co-founder of Chloros Solutions, a green consultancy, and the director of her family’s Jia Foundation, which engages in projects that support youth education, mental healthcare and the arts.
