Anne Wang-Liu dared to dress outside her comfort zone for our cover shoot, and it paid off

Cover shoots can be stressful, but Anne Wang-Liu certainly lifted the mood for hers, arriving laid-back and relaxed but with a get-up-and-go attitude.

“This is so exciting,” the philanthropist exclaimed with a megawatt smile. Introducing herself to the crew, she was warm and welcoming, making sure everyone felt at ease.

Having just returned to Hong Kong the night before after a week-long getaway to Barcelona with her husband and two daughters, Anne showed no trace of jet lag and instead had a summer glow about her, which added further glamour to the shoot.

At the helm of the Hong Kong Tatler production was photographer Richard Ramos, who successfully captured Anne’s incredible energy and positive spirit in his images.

Fashion director Justine Lee encouraged Anne to stray away from her usual style, which is often dominated by greys and blacks, with lighter shades of the season, including a caramel-hued wrap dress by Alessandra Rich and an ivory ruffled number by Australian designer Toni Maticevski.

Most notably, she wore a daring two-piece Orseund Iris suit with Van Cleef & Arpels’ Perlée Couleurs transformable long necklace in yellow gold with coral, proving that when it comes to elegance, a little goes a long way.
