Behind The Scenes: Genting Heir Loui Lim Talks Family And Success
Fresh-faced and with a bright smile, Loui Lim arrived on the morning of our cover shoot and immediately browsed keenly through the racks of clothes prepared for him—labels such as Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Tom Ford had eagerly agreed to dress him. He excitedly indicated a few of his favourites but trusted the Tatler team to make the final selections.

As the photographic team shuffled him through various spaces at the Peninsula Hong Kong, from the lobby to the Peninsula Suite to Felix and then onto the bustling streets of Tsim Sha Tsui, Loui exuded a natural elegance and easy-going charm, even cracking jokes with the team.

“You guys have to teach me how to pose,” Loui warned before we started, but as soon as photographer Dino Busch’s camera flashed and the images started rolling in, it was clear Loui needed no direction. Each frame was perfect and print-ready. The last few shots were captured at the busy intersection of Salisbury and Nathan roads, but Dino and Loui managed to dodge the cars and pedestrians with aplomb.
Loui was still a bundle of energy when the shoot wrapped up. He was heading home to prepare for his Tatler interview, scheduled for the next day, and to pack for a trip to Shanghai for the debut of the Explorer Dream, his company’s latest cruise ship, which will travel between Shanghai and Kyoto.
